Ministry of Transportation and Communications: Hinoki Wood Carriages to Run for the Alishan Forest Railway 104th Anniversary Celebration

The Chiayi Forest District Office and the Alishan Forest Railway Office have scheduled the "Alishan Forest Railway 104th Anniversary Celebration" for 10:00 AM on December 24 (Saturday) at the Alishan Forest Railway Chiayi Depot Park, and sincerely invite everyone to join the festivities.

To celebrate the 104th anniversary of the forest railway and to promote the importance of protecting cultural assets, the Alishan Forest Railway will operate diesel locomotive-hauled hinoki wood carriage trains between Beimen Station and Chiayi Station at 13:30, 14:00 and 14:30 on the 24th. The hinoki train offers a discounted one-way fare valid for both the outbound and return trips: full fare 38 yuan, half fare 19 yuan. Those interested in riding the hinoki wood carriages are urged to seize the opportunity.
