How to Control Honeysuckle Pests
The main pest of honeysuckle is aphids. In hot and rainy conditions, they often damage new leaves and vine tips, causing curling that affects growth. The usual treatment is spraying with 40% dimethoate emulsion at 3000 times dilution or 25% phosmet emulsion at 1000 times dilution. In addition, there are two simple methods:  ① Soak 5 grams of cigarette butts in 70~80 ml of water for 24 hours, rub them lightly, filter out the residue with gauze, then spray;  ② Use a 1:200 dilution of laundry detergent water (or soapy water). To improve effectiveness, add a few drops of rapeseed oil (do not use animal fat), stir thoroughly until no oil film is visible on the surface, then apply with a sprayer, or add a little ginger water and spray; the effect is also very good.  The product "Mieyajing" sold at flower and plant shops, with each small packet added to 200 ml of water, takes effect 20~30 minutes after spraying.
