The 2017 Love Strawberry Season event kicks off in Miaoli County

The completion ceremony for Miaoli County's "Dahu Winery, Strawberry, and Settlement Corridor" was held on the morning of the 5th at the plaza in front of the Luo Fuxing Memorial Hall in Dahu Township. Coinciding with the peak strawberry harvest, the 2017 Love Strawberry Season event was held alongside it, featuring a rural market, community talent performances, strawberry ornament DIY and other diverse activities, drawing visitors from all over and making the scene very lively.

Dahu Township is rich in produce and is a key hub for leisure agriculture in Miaoli County. With large crowds on weekends and holidays, and in order to improve the local corridor space and repair the old wooden boardwalk, the Dahu Township Office secured 13.5 million from the Hakka Affairs Council to build the "Dahu Winery, Strawberry, and Settlement Corridor," which integrates the area's history, culture and landscape.

The newly built corridor is made of composite wood and connects Dahu Winery, the Luo Fuxing Memorial Hall, the Yimin Temple and other sites along the way, guiding visitors to enjoy the beautiful scenery on foot and experience the loyal and heroic spirit of the Hakka ancestors. It also features a pressed-flower paving trail and a viewing platform, providing space for visitors to rest.

Deputy County Magistrate Deng Guiju said that Dahu Township, located within the planned area of the Romantic Boulevard on Provincial Highway 3, is rich in produce and beautiful in scenery, and is a key tourism hub in Miaoli. Through the corridor improvement project, tourism and local specialty industries are integrated, old equipment is repaired, the quality of existing service facilities is improved, and local settlement living circles are connected, revitalizing local resources. The hope is to create a distinctive tourism route, attract more outside visitors, and revitalize the overall tourism industry.
