Cnidium monnieri, also known as wild carrot seed, belongs to the Apiaceae family; its seeds are used medicinally and are in high demand on the market.

Adaptable range:Cnidium monnieri is cold-tolerant and drought-tolerant, has no strict requirements for soil, and is highly adaptable.

Planting techniques:It can be sown in spring, summer and winter. Seed treatment: before sowing, first soak the seeds in water for 12 hours, mix thoroughly with 2 times their volume of moist sand, and sow after 2-3 more days; during treatment, be careful to stir to keep the temperature and moisture uniform throughout. Winter sowing does not require seed treatment. Regardless of the season of sowing, first level the ground and water it; when the seedbed has dried to a suitable degree, use an iron rake to smooth the loose surface soil, open shallow furrows 1-2 cm deep at a row spacing of 24 cm, evenly scatter the seeds into the furrows, then rake level and water; generally seedlings emerge in 7-10 days. During the growing period, water in good time if there is drought. Cnidium monnieri grows very quickly; in the first year of planting, no chemical fertilizer is needed, to avoid lodging. It can be planted twice in succession in one year, and the second time the seeds do not need to be sown again.
