Recently I've seen many plant lovers in the comments section looking for all kinds of pothos care methods, because of the high summer temperatures. To be honest, getting a pothos safely through the summer takes some skill. Anyone who has grown pothos knows that in winter the pothos also struggles to survive the cold, in spring it enters a period of vigorous growth, and summer is the headache season for pothos care.

Many plant lovers have tried all sorts of care methods, right? So which method suits you best? Actually, everyone grows plants differently. No matter which one it is, there's always one that suits you. So today I'd like to introduce using something you played with as a kid to put a layer in the bottom of the pothos pot, so the potting soil stays loose and doesn't compact! Some

Some plant lovers will probably ask, what does growing pothos well have to do with soil compaction? And what is this thing? Don't worry, I'll introduce it all one by one!

The thing I'm talking about is the "glass marbles, crystal beads" we played with as kids. I don't know if you've all played with them, but Chinese checkers is played by jumping glass marbles, and if we put these glass marbles in the pothos pot, they work better than any gravel. Most importantly, they're clean, hygienic and don't attract bugs.

Those of us who regularly grow pothos know that if we want the leaves as broad as our palms, we first have to take good care of its roots. The prerequisite for good roots is, most importantly, fertile soil. If we haven't chosen good soil for the pothos, or haven't repotted and changed the soil for a long time, then over time the pothos soil will lose its nutrients. Add the high summer temperatures, and the soil is even more prone to compaction. Then its roots can't absorb nutrients, and naturally the pothos won't grow well.

So at this point we can put a layer of glass marbles in the pothos pot, which keeps the soil loose, breathable and free of compaction. Don't put in too many glass marbles, just one layer is enough, and this way when we repot the pothos again we can keep using the glass marbles. Isn't that convenient?
