Eat at food-saving restaurants for perks: the EPA has teamed up with 21 food-saving restaurants, and collecting points gets you discounts

By Lin Pei-chun, staff reporter for News & Market

To encourage the public to support food-saving restaurants, reduce food ingredient waste and help cut waste volumes, the EPA has teamed up with 21 food-saving restaurants to launch an "Environmental Protection Points Food Map." Members who join the "Environmental Green Points" program can, starting July 1, use accumulated green points to dine at food-saving restaurants and enjoy discounts on their meal bills, with part of the discount funding subsidized by the EPA. The EPA said it hopes that through the 21 restaurants that support "eating local," "saving ingredients" and "using odd-shaped produce," environmental concepts can be further put into practice at the level of "eating."
