Romantic Rose Exhibition at Taipei Shilin Official Residence: Wax Roses Dazzle the Crowd

"2017: Love You Together" - the Parks and Street Lights Office of the Taipei City Public Works Department invites the public to enjoy a romantic spring outing at Shilin Official Residence Park, hosting the 15-day "2017 Shilin Official Residence Rose Exhibition" from March 23 to April 6. In addition to more than 1,600 roses of various varieties planted in the official residence rose garden, the rose greenhouse also features the theme "Gorgeous Roses, Bridal Love," using pressed-flower artworks to portray the most romantic "bride" in everyone's heart, creating a sweet and blissful atmosphere, along with the first-ever "wax roses" that let you experience a festive mood. In the gentle spring breeze of March, the public is invited to bring their families for a romantic spring mini-vacation and witness eternal, unfading love together.

Huang Li-yuan, Director of the Parks and Street Lights Office, stated that this year's Shilin Official Residence Rose Exhibition invited Taiwan's quite well-known and sizable pressed-flower groups, the "Incredible Pressed Flower Club" and the "Li Chien Flower Family," to use the natural colors and textures of pressed roses to present beautiful scenes of bridal love.

He Qi-hua, Director of the Horticulture Management Office of the Parks and Street Lights Office, stated that in addition to the pressed-flower artworks symbolizing happiness, the "wax roses" introduced from the Netherlands are also making their first appearance in Taipei. There are chocolate-colored wax roses launched for Valentine's Day and snowflake wax roses for the Christmas atmosphere. Different colored waxes are applied to delicate rose petals, making their appearance resemble frosting and chocolate. They can be varied for different festivals and help extend the life of the roses, displaying their most beautiful appearance. At the same time, roses such as the "Coffee Time" rose from Ecuador and the playful pink garden rose "Pink O'hara" are also exhibited as cut flowers, paired with the rarely seen dyed baby's breath in various colors, filling the rose greenhouse with the fragrance and romance of roses through floral art techniques!

The "2017 Shilin Official Residence Rose Exhibition" runs from March 23 to April 6. The Parks and Street Lights Office reminds the public that during the exhibition period there will be large crowds. To save energy, reduce carbon emissions and respond to environmental protection, please make greater use of the MRT and public transportation.
