Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je Signs MOU with Thailand Creative & Design Center

The Taipei delegation led by Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je visited the Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC) on the afternoon of the 28th and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Thai side. Mayor Ko Wen-je said he hoped this would enable the Taipei Songshan Cultural and Creative Park and the Thailand Creative & Design Center to establish contact and exchange, which would help the development of the cultural and creative industries in both countries.

At the very start of his speech, Mayor Ko Wen-je expressed his thanks to the Thai side for giving the Taipei delegation a preview before the creative design center had officially opened. He said that the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park under the Taipei Cultural Foundation is Taiwan's most important cultural and creative industry zone, and given that its current space is almost fully used, the most likely site for expansion is the Taipei Railway Workshop, so a very important purpose of the delegation was to establish a channel of communication through the signing of the MOU.

Mayor Ko Wen-je said that TCDC is Thailand's most important cultural and creative base, and the Taipei Songshan Cultural and Creative Park is also Taiwan's most important cultural and creative base. Establishing a cooperation platform between the most important cultural and creative bases of the two countries should be beneficial to development on both sides, so Taipei City was very willing to sign such a cooperation agreement. In fact, it is impossible to see every kind of creative design in such a short time; after signing a cooperation agreement, everyone can continue to exchange in the days ahead, exchanging talent, designers or exhibitions, which is helpful to the development of the cultural and creative industries in both countries.

On the evening of the 28th, the Taipei delegation attended "FUN Taipei Night In Bangkok" in Bangkok, Thailand. In addition to cultural performances from Taipei and Thailand, there was also a promotional event for the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei, and Mayor Ko Wen-je sang "The Moon Represents My Heart" together with Thai beauty pageant contestant Chalita, bringing the event to a climax.
