Taoyuan Colored Calla Lily Festival "Holiday Picnic FUN Relaxation" Draws Over 200,000 Visitors

Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan went to Dayuan District on the afternoon of the 4th to attend the "2017 Taoyuan Colored Calla Lily Festival - Holiday Picnic FUN Relaxation" event, where he said the Taoyuan Colored Calla Lily Festival features calla lilies in 4 colors - yellow, pink, red and purple - as well as other flowers such as perfume lilies and amaryllis, making it richer and more colorful than the white calla lily season on Yangmingshan. Since the event began on March 31, it has drawn more than 200,000 visits, and he welcomed everyone to seize the time and come to Dayuan to visit the Taoyuan Colored Calla Lily Festival.

Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan pointed out that the event venue for the Colored Calla Lily Festival, "Xihai Flower Park," is close to Taoyuan HSR Station and Airport MRT Station A18, and the city government also provides shuttle buses running between Airport MRT Stations A18 and A19. At the same time, the Xihai area has many flower farms, so while enjoying the flowers, residents can also sightsee and relax nearby.

Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan also said that the surroundings of the Taoyuan Aerotropolis plan will have four major features, including "Xucuogang Wetland Ecological Park," "Xihai Leisure Agriculture Area," the old Puxin Navy Base's "Black Cat Squadron Memorial Park," and "Zhuwei Fishing Harbor Fisherman's Wharf." The city government will ensure the best possible preservation and development of these natural and cultural assets.

Agriculture Bureau Director Guo Cheng-quan said that this event invited the "Happy 10 Strings" parent-child band to perform "Children's Lively Dance-Along," and also invited the Illustration Workshop to offer an event-exclusive "Colored Calla Lily Shape" body painting, with 10 kinds of popular and cute cartoon characters to choose from. Hotai Motor gave shaped balls to children, Shin Kong Life provided 100 picnic mats, and Pringles gave away 1,000 cans of corn chips for residents to enjoy on the picnic day, sharing happy parent-child time together.
