Taichung Pastry Festival Dajia Edition Kicks Off with a Bang, Entertainer Sasha Joins the Public in Celebration

The 2017 Taichung Pastry Festival Dajia Edition kicked off on the 9th on Shuntian Road in Dajia, inviting Foodie Player host Sasha to join the public in celebration on site, with more than 27 quality Dajia shops taking part, and City Councilor Wu Minji also present in support. Deputy Director-General of the Economic Development Bureau Li Yi-an pointed out that the Taichung Pastry Festival series of events will continue with the Fengyuan Edition in June and the Sun Cake Cultural Festival in October, and will also hold the fourth Taiwan Golden Pastry Award competition, responding to the 2018 World Flora Exposition by creating pastries with flowers as the theme, inviting the public to experience the unique charm of Taichung pastries.

Deputy Director-General Li Yi-an stated that the Taichung City Pastry Festival series of events has already become a key annual event that the public must attend. In addition to the Dajia Edition opening the series, there will be the Fengyuan Edition in June and the Sun Cake Cultural Festival in October, linking together into a golden triangle of pastries, each with its own characteristics, rallying more than a hundred pastry businesses to participate, in the hope of carrying forward Taichung's pastry culture.

In addition, this year will also feature international connections, inviting Michelin chefs to attend, and will hold the fourth Taiwan Golden Pastry Award pastry competition, combining with the 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition to create innovative pastries with flowers as the theme, expected to attract pastry businesses from across the country to compete, and welcoming friends from around the world to participate together and experience the unique charm of Taichung pastries.
