To expand overseas markets for Taichung City agricultural products, the Taichung City Agriculture Bureau has invited farmers' groups within its jurisdiction to travel to Hong Kong from now until May 11 to participate in the "2017 Hong Kong International Food Expo," displaying high-quality agricultural products such as Heping Lishan tea, Dongshi coffee, and Wufeng domestic sake, and inviting Hong Kong consumers to taste Taichung's good flavors together.
The Taichung City Agriculture Bureau said that Taichung has a uniquely advantaged climate and environment and cultivation techniques, and the agricultural products it produces are rich in variety; moreover, Hong Kong is not only an important high-end agricultural specialty and food market in the Greater China region, but because its dietary habits and flavors are similar to Taiwan's and its geographical location is also close, it has become one of our country's important export markets.
This exhibition is the largest professional food expo in all of Hong Kong, with an exhibition area of 65,000 sq m and a total of 2,500 international manufacturers participating. Taichung is displaying Heping District Lishan tea, Dongshi District high-quality coffee, Wufeng District domestic sake, Longjing District refined peanut oil, Dali charcoal-baked longan dried fruit, and sweet potato snowflake flakes and sweet potato drinks made through innovative processing technology, and has also selected products such as "Zhonggang Miso" and soybean hand-baked rice crackers made from "Zhigao soybeans" grown along Taichung's coastal line, ready to conquer the taste buds of Hong Kong consumers.
