The Shilin Official Residence Park, which you know well for its hundreds of flowers, with roses, orchids, and chrysanthemums, but did you know there is a herb garden hidden within the Shilin Official Residence? In order to let citizens and friends see and smell different herb plants, the "Shilin Official Residence Herb Plant Exhibition" is being held from May 16 to May 31 at the Herb Garden, offering citizens and friends a wonderful place for aromatic healing before summer arrives.

Park Department Director Huang Li-yuan stated that the Shilin Official Residence Herb Garden is located next to the main hall of the "Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling Shilin Official Residence." It was originally a lawn area and was established in 2003, with an area of approximately 500 sq m. It is a small and tranquil garden that uses driftwood, European-style flower pots, and other materials paired with rosemary, mint, and other herb plants to create a European-style garden atmosphere. This herb plant exhibition takes the 12 Chinese zodiac signs as its theme to find corresponding plants, such as pink-spiked "rat" tail grass, "ox" grass, "tiger" ear grass, "rabbit" ear fern, "rabbit" foot fern, "dragon" spit pearl, "snake" berry, "horse" birthwort, "horse" orchid, "goat" milk vine, "monkey" grass, "chicken" dung vine, "dog" tail grass, water "pig" milk herb, etc., creating an alternative garden landscape full of educational fun.

In the warm days of May, citizens and friends may wish to take advantage of the holidays to invite family and friends to stroll together through the elegant and fragrant herb garden, and through touching, smelling, and observing different herbs, enjoy a sensory feast of stress relief and relaxation.
