What is the difference between three-way crossbred pigs with all-foreign parent lines and those with domestic parent lines?

Three-way crossbred pigs have strong stress resistance and very obvious heterosis. At present, the most widely used breeding plan in China is A×(B×C), where A is the terminal boar, B is the paternal line of the dam line, and C is the maternal line of the dam line. Among them, A is mostly Duroc, B is mostly Landrace, and C is mostly Large White. In many cases, B and C can also be swapped. There are three-way crossbred pigs with domestic parent lines and three-way crossbred pigs with all-foreign parent lines. Let us take a look below at the differences between three-way crossbred pigs with all-foreign parent lines and those with domestic parent lines!
What classifications of three-way crossbred pigs are there?
1. All-foreign three-way cross: all three breeds are introduced foreign breeds, such as Landrace, Large White, and Duroc crosses.
2. Domestic three-way cross: among the three breeds, one to two are Chinese breeds, such as Landrace, Large White, and Northeast Min pig.
3. Local three-way cross: all three breeds are local Chinese breeds, such as Neijiang pig, Rongchang pig, and Yunnan small-ear pig.
Differences between three-way crossbred pigs with all-foreign parent lines and those with domestic parent lines
1. All-foreign three-way cross: the dam line, first paternal line, and second paternal line are all improved foreign pig breeds, and three-way crossbred lean pigs are produced by crossing. Generally, a Landrace boar is first mated with a Large White sow, and after the resulting two-way crossbred gilts grow up, they are mated with a Duroc boar; the offspring produced are called three-way crossbred pigs.
2. Domestic three-way cross: local improved sows are used as the dam line. Generally, a Large Yorkshire boar is first used as the first paternal line to produce first-generation crossbred sows, namely two-way crossbred sows, and then a Duroc or Landrace boar, among others, is used as the second paternal line to cross with the two-way crossbred sows to produce three-way crossbred pigs.
Crossing combinations for three-way crossbred pigs with all-foreign parent lines
1. Duroc × Landrace × Large White: Landrace boar × Large Yorkshire sow → Landrace-Large White crossbred sow, Duroc boar × Landrace-Large White crossbred sow → Duroc-Landrace-Large White all-foreign three-way crossbred pig.
2. Duroc × Large White × Landrace: Large Yorkshire boar × Landrace sow → Large White-Landrace crossbred sow, Duroc boar × Large White-Landrace crossbred sow → Duroc-Large White-Landrace all-foreign three-way crossbred pig.
