Buy Bananas, Support Banana Farmers: Pingtung County Government's Kuso Short Films Strike with Heart

Bananas are in peak season, but prices have recently been reported as weakening. To boost buying interest, the Pingtung County Government, besides holding banana promotional events, has also released two short films in succession, featuring the adorable anthropomorphic "Banana Friends" as well as a live-action version of "Pingtung Golden Banana." They are hilarious, and the whole point is to tell everyone to eat more bananas and have more happy moments, all of which are so healing.

These two short films were successively posted on County Magistrate Pan Meng-an's Facebook. County Magistrate Pan Meng-an said the ideas for the short films all came from county government colleagues. To help market agricultural products, they urgently brainstormed and created two works in an extremely short time. Their unconventional creativity also demonstrated the county government team's cohesion and ability to act.

The "Banana" Friends short film uses only two bananas as the protagonists, with simple expressions and limbs drawn on them, paired with phrases like "banana" inseparable, "banana" bonding, friendship across generations "banana," and "banana" dripping, strung together into an anthropomorphic film that brings a knowing smile and even inspired netizens to follow along making "banana" puns: "Zhiming and Chun 'Banana,'" "'Banana' traffic safety" - super interesting.

The other short film, "Pingtung Golden Banana," features a real person playing a banana person, divided into three segments: the heartbreak chapter - tears "banana" falling, the cargo-moving chapter - "banana" head and burnt brow, and the work chapter - heart and strength "banana" exhausted. When you are feeling down or lack energy for work, "Pingtung Golden Banana" is like Popeye's spinach - eat it and you instantly come back to life. The comedic plot is close to people's real lives, and watching it makes you laugh until you cry.

County Magistrate Pan Meng-an emphasized that although the short films are mostly for fun, the county government team's heartfelt effort behind the scenes to save banana farmers is passionate and sincere. He hopes everyone will be deeply impressed after watching the films and join together to support farmers!
