Changhua County Healthy Pork Carnival Kicks Off, Magistrate Wei Ming-ku Promotes

The Changhua County Government, together with the Changhua County Meat Market, the Changhua County Farmers' Association and the Chinese Association of Hospitality, held the "Changhua Healthy Pork Marketing Carnival" on the afternoon of the 2nd at the Jingsong Culture and Education Park in Tianzhong Township. Changhua County Magistrate Wei Ming-ku attended to promote the event and present awards recognizing outstanding pig farms and related wholesale market personnel. Chiu Chuang-chin, chief executive officer of the Central Livestock Production Foundation, attended. Twelve chefs from well-known restaurants were invited on site, each responsible for creating creative specialty dishes featuring Changhua healthy pork combined mainly with local ingredients, to promote and market Changhua healthy pork. Magistrate Wei Ming-ku stressed that Changhua County will never compromise on food safety controls, and expressed the hope that through the event, the strengths of Changhua's excellent livestock, poultry and agricultural specialty products will be brought into full play, so that consumers will recognize the local brand and enjoy food that is both delicious and reassuring.

Magistrate Wei Ming-ku said that the county government promotes Changhua healthy pork, which uses no lean meat powder and has no drug residues. At the feed stage, feed is tested to see whether improper drugs have been added; pigs are given blood tests to check for banned drug components; and at the sales end, another test is carried out, so that consumers can buy with confidence and eat with peace of mind. He called on the public to buy more agricultural products produced locally in Changhua, hoping that through the event Changhua healthy pork will be marketed, the brand of Changhua healthy pigs will be made known, pig farmers' income will increase, their quality of life will improve, and a win-win situation for both pig farmers and consumers will be created.

At present, "Changhua Healthy Pork" is sold at a total of 18 specialty meat stalls in traditional markets within Changhua County. In the chain fresh supermarket sector, the certified factory Chengchang Industrial Co., Ltd. already supplies about 700 PX Mart fresh supermarket stores nationwide and 42 Fengkang Supermarket branches. At the sales end, whether at specialty meat stalls or fresh supermarkets, packaged products must display or bear the "Changhua Healthy Pork" certification mark to make it easy for the public to choose. The Changhua County Government and industry operators are working hard to ensure quality control, hoping to make Changhua Healthy Pork consumers' first choice.
