Hsinchu County peach promotion: 2 events, the public is welcome to visit and buy

Starting every May, in the valleys, on the hillsides, and atop the peaks of the Jianshi back mountains, an enchanting peach fragrance drifts out one after another. Each large, ripe fruit is the best reward every peach tree gives back to the local indigenous people for a year of hard work. Within this sweet flesh lies the Atayal people's insistence on the quality of agricultural products, as well as their interpretation of the value of life. Holding a peach in hand and turning to look around, standing amid this beautiful natural landscape, I hope to pass this product filled with the indigenous soul into everyone's hands!

Peach production areas in the Hsinchu region are concentrated in Jianshi Township and Wufeng Township. The peach season in Jianshi Township runs from mid-June to the end of July each year. The production areas are mainly the two villages of Xiuluan and Yufeng in the back mountains. Because the altitude is generally as high as 1200 m or more, the terrain is high, the temperature is low, the soil is fertile, and there is year-round drifting mist, the peaches produced are not only rich in moisture but also full of fragrance. In recent years, as techniques have continuously improved, the quality and aroma of the cultivated peaches have both continued to rise.

To support the promotion and sale of peaches by the Jianshi Township Office, the Hsinchu Post Office has specially opened service counters at the post offices under its jurisdiction as sales locations for peach growers, and on Saturdays and Sundays, at the young farmer markets at Jingpin City 12F and the Zhubei Xinwawu Hakka Cultural Preservation Area, there are also Jianshi Township peach vendor stalls. You are invited to visit and buy.

With funding subsidies and support from the Council of Indigenous Peoples and the Hsinchu County Government, this year's Jianshi peach season sales events total two: on 7/15 and 16 at the Jianshi Township Bamboo House Agricultural Special Products Sales Venue, and on 7/22 and 23 at the plaza in front of the Hsinchu County Government. During the events, as long as you buy the designated number of boxes, you will receive a series of gifts, boosting sales; at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd there will also be an indigenous music evening, inviting Lu Xue-rui, ASA, Giwas Band, Chen Yi-lai, and the music band to present a feast of indigenous music. Don't forget to come to the venue during the day to buy peaches; in the evening, the concert is waiting for you!
