Taichung City lychees successfully expand marketing channel to Brunei, another shipment on the 20th
The Taichung City Agriculture Bureau has guided the Fengyuan District Farmers' Association in marketing fruit to Brunei for many years, with excellent and stable quality that is deeply loved by local consumers. In late June, during the black leaf lychee season, 2 metric tons were first trial-sold to Brunei, gaining widespread support from local media and consumers. Another 1 metric ton of lychees is expected to be shipped on July 20. At the same time, 5 metric tons of peaches, 4 metric tons of grapes and 3 metric tons of Asian pears will also be exported to that country, seeking greater export space for Taichung farmers.
The Taichung City Agriculture Bureau pointed out that due to suitable natural conditions, agricultural products produced in Taichung City are highly competitive in the market, and fruit is available for rotation sales throughout all four seasons of the year. Taking lychees, a summer fruit currently entering mass production, as an example, after harvesting combined with cold chain processing technology, the freshness preservation period of lychees can be extended to as long as 21 days, enhancing the competitive advantage of Taiwan agricultural products. A marketing channel to Brunei has now been successfully expanded.
In addition to lychees, peaches, grapes and Asian pears will be exported to Brunei on July 20, providing local consumers with more diverse choices and hoping to drive a wave of consumption of Taiwan agricultural products among Brunei consumers.
The Taichung City Agriculture Bureau stated that Taichung fruit is of excellent quality and has successfully established "Taiwan Taichung" brand awareness in Brunei. This year, it has further integrated high-quality agricultural products produced in various districts of Taichung City in summer, marketing high-value crops such as lychees, peaches, grapes and pears to Brunei, and setting up a "Taiwan Taichung" summer fruit special zone in local supermarkets, to let local consumers in Brunei know more about Taichung.
