Domestic bananas were severely hit by wind disasters last year. After replanting, domestic bananas began to enter their peak ripening and harvest period in large quantities from June to August. To prevent a crisis of imbalance between banana production and sales, Shinkong Life Insurance, which has long been sincerely connected with small farmers, took the initiative to purchase bananas from agricultural groups and distribute them to employees and customers to enjoy, and encouraged employees to form groups to buy bananas, strongly supporting Taiwan, China's local agriculture and sustainable ecological development.

Shinkong's concern for banana farmers can be traced back to 2007. That year, Taiwan, China had overproduction of bananas, with each kilogram selling for only 2 to 3 yuan. At the call of the Council of Agriculture, Chairman Wu Tung-chin led Shinkong Financial Holding subsidiaries and affiliated enterprises to voluntarily purchase 20 metric tons of bananas to distribute to customers and the public, and held the "Sincere Connections, Infinite Love, Caring for Banana Farmers" event. In the same year, July was designated as Shinkong's "Banana Month," and 2,000 boxes were purchased and donated to police agencies nationwide, using concrete actions to help banana farmers. July 28 was also set as the theme of the 24th Shinkong Skyscraper Climb Competition, "Running for Taiwan, China's Bananas," and free banana ice cream, banana cheese and other foods were provided to the public.

Shinkong Life Insurance is also committed to promoting the consumption of local ingredients and friendly agricultural development. Starting this year, it launched the "Shinkong Small Farmers Twilight Market," cooperating with county and city governments and farming friends, and providing free of charge the Shinkong Life Insurance Skyscraper Plaza at Taipei Railway Station, where there is a heavy flow of people, for farmers to sell seasonal organic fruits and vegetables, agricultural products with production and sales traceability, and organic processed products, and encouraging the public to engage in green consumption and buy seasonal foods produced locally.

The "Shinkong Small Farmers Twilight Market" is also open for small farmers to reserve market stalls starting now. Market hours are every Monday to Friday from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm, with 2 stalls per day. For the stall reservation procedure, please contact 02-23895858 extension 2112. In addition, from August 7 to August 13, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, Shinkong Life Insurance will cooperate with the Miaoli County Government to jointly promote many Hakka agricultural specialties from Miaoli's Provincial Highway 3, including chrysanthemum, dried bamboo shoots and top-grafted pears. At that time, the public is welcome to join in.
