Chiayi County Magistrate Zhang Huaguan Launches Another New Southbound Push, Vigorously Promotes "New" Ways to Play in Singapore

Singaporean visitors to Taiwan reached 195,442 person-times from January to June of this year (2017), an increase of 8.89% compared with the same period last year, showing development potential for Taiwan's tourism market. To vigorously promote Chiayi County's tourism market, County Magistrate Zhang Huaguan on the 14th, together with Culture and Tourism Bureau Director Xu Youren, attended the "2017 Singapore Autumn Travel Fair Tourism Promotion Event," and at the event vigorously promoted Chiayi's "new" ways to play, bringing out the soon-to-debut Taiping Cloud Ladder and the 2018 Taiwan Lantern Festival, arousing the curiosity and interest of many Singaporean friends.

County Magistrate Zhang Huaguan said that last year Chiayi County's visitors already surpassed 6.4 million person-times. This year, the Taiping Cloud Ladder, located at an altitude of 1,000 m, with a total length of 281 m and known as the longest in all of Southeast Asia, will officially open on September 23. In addition, the 2018 Taiwan Lantern Festival, which connects from the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum and Taizi Boulevard to the County Administration Special Zone and breaks through tradition with art curation and technological innovation, will absolutely be the most unique travel experience for Singaporean visitors coming to Taiwan.

At the raffle activity during the promotion event, County Magistrate Zhang Huaguan finally added 30 tickets for the Taiping Cloud Ladder and the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum, and jokingly said that she would stop at nothing to bring all tourists to Chiayi, making the atmosphere on site quite heated and leaving everyone with a deep impression of Chiayi.
