The Hsinchu City Government is holding the "Old Crafts, New Twists" creative employment promotion event, which will debut at 228 Memorial Park on August 19. A press conference was held on the 16th, with on-site demonstrations of using local tetrapanax paper combined with fine-brush painting, mounted through paper mounting to create the nation's first National Palace Museum-level work. Mayor Lin Chih-chien invited citizens to actively participate in the event, to learn about old crafts, brainstorm new twists, and implement new creative ideas.
At the press conference, teacher Chang Hsiu-mei and master craftswoman Tseng Su-hsiang together demonstrated the old craft of "planing tetrapanax," painter Chen Ming-chen painted on site, bringing the scene of the East Gate City vividly to life, and mounting expert Pan Chien-chen taught paper mounting. Planing tetrapanax, fine-brush painting, paper mounting, and other old crafts, through creative combination, produce the nation's first National Palace Museum-level work.
Deputy Mayor Shen Hui-hung wrote "Happy Hsinchu" on tetrapanax paper, and after signing and mounting, completed a unique cultural and creative work, symbolizing the birth of a new cultural and creative industry.
