Method for Making Chicken Feed from Sawdust

To make chicken feed from sawdust, it needs to go through three processes: disinfection, fermentation, and ingredient mixing.

Disinfection. Sieve out debris such as shavings, small wooden sticks, and iron nails mixed in the sawdust, and at the same time sieve out soil with a small-hole sieve, then disinfect with a 0.05% potassium permanganate solution. The method is: pour the pre-prepared potassium permanganate solution into a vat containing sawdust, so that the solution covers the sawdust by 10-15 cm, stir for about 5 minutes, then take out the sawdust and drain it.

Fermentation. Put the disinfected sawdust into a pit or vat, compacting it layer by layer; for every 15-20 cm loaded, spray once with warm water at 30°C-40°C using a spray bottle; for every 10 kg of sawdust, 12-14 kg of water needs to be sprayed; after the pit or vat is filled, place a heavy object on top, and it can be opened for use after 3-5 days. For winter fermentation, ensure the room temperature is not lower than 15°C.

Ingredient mixing. Before use, the fermented sawdust needs to be boiled in a pot for 40-50 minutes; after filtering off the water, for every 10 kg of sawdust add 200 g of vegetable oil, 150 g of salt, 15 g of monosodium glutamate, and 30%-50% energy feed, and mix well.
