Symptoms:
Orchards with a high groundwater table and poor drainage are more severely affected. On affected berries, light brown patches the size of a bean first appear on the fruit surface, then expand into oval necrotic spots about 7-8 mm in size with slightly sunken surfaces; the affected areas are prone to subsequent infection by anthracnose or other fruit-rot fungi, causing the fruit to rot. Berries at the hard-pit stage are more susceptible to sunburn, and after the fruit colors it is less affected.
Prevention and control methods:
1. Orchards in low-lying areas should pay attention to drainage after rain to lower the groundwater table.
2. During summer pruning, appropriately leave a few leaves near the clusters for shade, while appropriately removing excess leaves in other parts.
3. Spray 0.2% potassium dihydrogen sulfate, or 5% wood ash extract.
