New Taipei City Deputy Mayor Li Sichuan Promotes Quality Goods: First Online-to-Offline Physical Exhibition
Led by New Taipei City Deputy Mayor Li Sichuan, the New Taipei Quality Goods Delegation participated in the mainland Kunshan Taiwan Agricultural Specialties and Food Expo, which opened yesterday (the 20th), marking the first cross-border launch of an online-to-offline physical sales and tasting event. This year's promotion strategy will target overseas consumers, combining cross-border e-commerce platform cooperation to expand marketing channels for New Taipei City's specialty products and cuisine, build cross-border brand advantages, and drive industrial development.
Deputy Mayor Li Sichuan stated that the city government is developing a smart city and is committed to applying industrial innovations to commercial development and transformation, in order to provide consumers with more diverse and convenient services. Since the city government began holding souvenir selection events in 2008, it has accumulated numerous high-quality products and widely popular specialty souvenirs. To address the inconvenience for overseas consumers visiting Taiwan to purchase souvenirs, such as needing to ship them to hotels, pick them up at airports, or collect them en route, this year the city will combine cross-border e-commerce platforms to help promote New Taipei City's quality products in opening new channels in the mainland, exploring more markets, and accelerating the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries. This time, exchanges will be held with the Huaqiao Cross-Border Trade Town to secure more opportunities for Taiwan enterprises to explore the mainland market, overturning consumers' shopping methods with a form different from the past, easily promoting Taiwan products through smart technology, and bringing more business opportunities.
The New Taipei City Economic Development Bureau stated that this 2017 Cross-Strait (Kunshan) Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival and Taiwan Agricultural Specialties and Food Expo features approximately 30,000 sq m of Taiwan-style streets divided into four themed areas: Taiwan high-quality agricultural specialties, specialty souvenirs, cultural and creative products, and food snacks. The New Taipei Pavilion is leading 11 businesses in the first wave of joint product promotion this year, offering a continuous 5-day free tasting event on site, and is expected to create millions in repeat-purchase business opportunities in the future.
