Requirements set out for the next stage of survey work
In order to further advance the campaign against illegal drug cultivation and ensure the goals of "zero output and zero planting," and building on the comprehensive surveys carried out in the previous stage, on the morning of June 16, Chen Huaijun, Party Leadership Group member of the Tongwei County Government, deputy director of the county anti-drug committee, secretary of the Party Committee and director of the Public Security Bureau, accompanied by Liu Zehao, director of the county anti-drug office and deputy director of the bureau, once again led officers from the bureau's criminal investigation and anti-drug departments deep into forest areas such as Nanping Mountain in the county seat to comprehensively carry out survey operations using police drones.
During the operation, building on on-site surveys, the surveying officers used drones to focus on key locations such as the dense forest areas of Nanping Mountain, clearings among the trees and remote idle courtyards, conducting "grid-style" and "no blind spot" patrol surveys, and no suspicious drug-producing plants were found.
Regarding the next stage of survey work, Comrade Chen Huaijun required that the current "critical period" when drug plants are flowering must be grasped firmly, that key forest areas and idle residential courtyards must be kept under close watch, and that a new round of survey operations must be fully launched to resolutely ensure "zero output and zero planting." Anti-drug publicity and education must be effectively strengthened, explaining to the general public the harms of drugs and common prevention knowledge, continuously raising the whole population's legal awareness of anti-drug efforts, and further mobilizing the public's enthusiasm for reporting drug crime leads. Cooperation and coordination with the member units of the anti-drug committee must be strengthened, and through sustained and lasting survey operations, a powerful deterrent effect must be formed within the jurisdiction, so as to achieve thorough eradication of drug cultivation with no blind spots left.
