Characteristic planting in Ansheng Township, Liangping, Chongqing helps farmers increase income

Hualong.com, June 20, 16:00 (Correspondent Zhang Fengfeng) On the morning of June 19, Liu Xuezhen, a villager from Group 4 of Ansheng Township, Liangping District, Chongqing, was picking peaches in her own peach orchard. Her Dahongbao honey peaches have become a hot-selling item in markets around the urban area.

Ansheng Township is located on the outskirts of Liangping District. The township Party committee and government, seizing on the local favorable geographical advantages and soil conditions, while introducing leading enterprises for large-scale planting, guided farmers to vigorously develop the planting of characteristic agricultural products through small-scale, multi-variety methods. This attracted residents from the urban area and surrounding areas to go on outings and pick and buy, which both enriched residents' lives and found more ways for farmers to increase income and become better off.

Liu Xuezhen's family planted 4 mu of characteristic fruits, including cherries, honey peaches and local plums, with an annual net income of more than 40,000 yuan. In the township, small-scale planting operators like Liu Xuezhen's family have reached more than 500 households, making Ansheng a veritable supply base of characteristic agricultural products for the urban area.
