Peanuts hard to get high yields in your garden? Solve this problem first!

Farmers who grow peanuts all know that because of many years of continuous cropping, peanut yields are greatly affected. Below we have specially invited senior agronomist Teacher Fu to show us how to increase peanut yields after continuous cropping.

The first main cause of peanut yield reduction is worsening pests and diseases, especially root and stem rot, where the roots turn black and rot, mainly caused by continuous cropping. Another cause is seed-borne bacteria and soil-borne bacteria. After flowering, leaf spot disease rises within one month. Depending on the weather conditions and the continuous cropping situation, some places are more severely affected.

The causes of southern blight are mainly, first, that continuous cropping of the peanut field creates a source of the fungus, and second, that in the later stage of peanut growth, when the rainy season comes with fairly heavy rain and waterlogging in the field, this provides suitable environmental conditions that lead to severe outbreak of southern blight. The outbreak of southern blight may cause the whole field to wilt and die. It will cause very severe yield reduction.

With many years of continuous cropping, the organic matter content is relatively low, so we increase this organic matter content. In addition, after many years of continuous cropping, with less organic matter, the soil structure is relatively poor, the granular structure is relatively poor, the organic matter content is low, microbial activity is relatively low, the soil microbial content is very low, and fertilizer use efficiency is very low.

We can increase the beneficial microorganisms in the soil to control the harmful pathogens in the soil. Solve the problem from this aspect. Another approach is to increase balanced fertilization, to break the unreasonable soil fertilizer structure caused by continuous cropping, and solve the problem from this aspect. Basically controlling it from three aspects is not to say it can solve the continuous cropping problem, but on the basis of the continuous cropping problem it can appropriately increase its yield.

As for the amount of fertilizer, in terms of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, one bag of compound fertilizer is fine. But with frequent continuous cropping, this plot's organic matter content decreases and the soil structure is unreasonable. In addition, the soil microorganisms are relatively few, the beneficial microorganisms are relatively few. Also, there are relatively many harmful pathogens. So this causes worsening peanut pests and diseases and reduced fertilizer use efficiency. On the basis of applying one bag of compound fertilizer, we appropriately add some organic fertilizer. In addition, especially microbial fertilizer, the effect will be a bit better.

That is all for today's sharing. If there is anything unclear about today's sharing, or if you have other problems when growing peanuts, you can ask in the comment section below.
