Introduction of tricolor ground-cover chrysanthemums to Fangshan District, Beijing: planting completed
In early 2017, the Fangshan District Agricultural Science Institute, together with the Beijing Agricultural Technology Extension Station, achieved good results with the tulip farmland landscape belt presented at "Tiankai Flower Sea," in order to continue this new model of leisure landscape agriculture in the Beijing suburbs.
According to the 2017 work plan, the park will plant a more diverse range of landscape crops. Recently, the Beijing Agricultural Technology Extension Station introduced tricolor ground-cover chrysanthemums and completed planting. Before sowing, the soil was plowed and fertilized. To ensure the overall flowering effect, the sowing row spacing was controlled at 40cm and the plant spacing at 30cm. After sowing, water was sprayed for 3-4 hours. The flowers are expected to reach ornamental value in August, further extending the landscape effect.
