Apricots ripen in Luo Niangniang Fresh Orchard in Zongzhai Town, Suzhou District

These days, the apricots in Luo Niangniang Fresh Orchard in Group 3 of Shahe Village, Zongzhai Town, Suzhou District have entered their ripening period, with golden-yellow and bright-red apricots hanging all over the branches, attracting large numbers of tourists to come sightseeing and pick them.

Luo Xiuhua is the person in charge of the Oasis Peach Orchard Forest and Fruit Agricultural Professional Cooperative. In the past, she mainly grew cash crops. Later, after surveying the market, she found that the market prospects for fruits such as peaches and apricots were good, that relatively few were grown in Zongzhai Town, and that they were also easy to sell. So in 2010 she transferred more than 100 mu of land and mainly planted forest and fruit varieties such as apricots and peaches, and named the orchard after her own name with the down-to-earth name "Luo Niangniang Fresh Orchard." This year is the first year the apricot trees have borne fruit, and the bright apricots all over the trees have bent the branches low, attracting many tourists to come taste and pick them.

It is understood that Luo Niangniang Fresh Orchard has planted a total of 20 mu of apricot trees. In addition to the good-tasting, early-maturing Shahe red apricot, there is also the late-maturing variety Liguang apricot. At present, apricot sales are mainly through picking and delivery to supermarkets, and the orchard can receive more than 80 picking tourists per day, selling nearly 1,000 jin of apricots.
