Yixian adds 36,000 mu of fruit tree planting area this year

Up to now, the county has added 36,000 mu of fruit tree planting area, including 39 large-scale orchards of more than 100 mu each, adding new vitality to the county's poverty alleviation efforts. To ensure the early realization of the goal of one mu of fruit per person, this year Yixian, building on its existing advantages in the forest-fruit industry, further guides fruit growers to change their thinking, keep up with the pace of production adjustment, and take the path to prosperity through forest-fruit cultivation. By organizing fruit growers to go out for visits and study, holding fruit tree training courses and other activities, it actively helps fruit growers expand the planting area of fruit trees such as early Jinsu pear, Nanhong pear and Hanfu apple. At present, the county's apple planting area has grown to 51,800 mu, and its pear planting area has reached 43,000 mu, while other varieties such as plum, grape and raspberry have already formed planting scale. The county's science and technology department actively invites fruit tree experts to go deep into the fields to comment on and guide fruit growers' field management on site. Through hands-on teaching, it helps fruit growers improve practical technical skills such as scientific management of fruit trees and drought resistance and disaster reduction, ensuring the survival rate of newly planted fruit trees. At present, more than 30 sessions of fruit tree technical training have been held, benefiting nearly 2,000 fruit growers.
