The police officers immediately rushed to Che's home and found that multiple opium poppy plants were growing at the edge of Che's vegetable garden, most of which had already bloomed and borne fruit. Upon inquiry, it was confirmed that the opium poppies were planted by Che.

It turned out that Che was an elderly person receiving the Five Guarantees support in Zhaigou Village, Chengguan Town, and believed that opium poppies had medicinal value, so Che used opium poppy shells stored at home as seeds and planted opium poppies at the edge of the vegetable garden. Che had no understanding at all of the harmfulness and consequences of illegally planting the original plant of drugs. After taking photos of the scene for evidence, the police officers immediately eradicated the more than 20 opium poppy plants Che had planted and criticized and educated Che.
