How greenhouse strawberries get through the summer, five management points are very important

Strawberry cultivation and picking are currently a fairly popular option for leisure farms or parks, and summer management of greenhouse strawberries is the difficult part of the year. The following things need to be done well:

1. Irrigate to keep moisture. When the ground cracks, you can irrigate the furrows at night; once the soil is moist, stop watering and drain the water from the furrows. In areas with poor irrigation conditions, water in the morning and evening, and be sure to water thoroughly and soak deeply to keep the soil moist.

2. Shade and cool down. The simplest way is to build a shade shed and put up a shade net.

3. Directional runner pressing. After strawberries are harvested, during the summer and autumn period, three to five rounds of daughter plants will be produced one after another. For strawberries used for propagation, when the strawberry plants send out runners, the runners should be directed and smoothed out so the daughter plants grow strong. Press the new plants down with soil to encourage new roots.

4. Remove weeds. Weeds compete with strawberries for nutrients, affect strawberry growth, and also reduce drought resistance, so they should be pulled out. When weeding, also pay attention to clearing away old leaves and diseased leaves of the strawberries.

5. Control pests. In summer and autumn, the biggest threat to strawberries is the larvae of scarab beetles, so pay attention to killing the insects.
