Farmers growing "Sanyuehong" find clever ways to make big money, earning over a thousand yuan a day

It is now the season when fruits hit the market, and following the Sanyue plum, the so-called Sanyuehong lychee has come onto the market too. People say farmers don't make money growing this or that, but if they really didn't make money, who would be willing to stay in their hometown growing crops? They would have long gone out to work as laborers. In fact, it's not that the crops farmers grow don't make money, but that they lack alternative ways to earn.

Take Brother Bai, a farmer in Jinxiang Village, who hasn't gone out to work for more than 10 years. For these 10-plus years, he has made his fortune relying on the 8-9 mu of lychee trees he grows at home. Mentioning lychee must have everyone's mouth watering. Lychee has been very popular in our country since ancient times. The line "A galloping horse raises a smile from the concubine, no one knows it is the lychee that arrives" explains the important place lychee holds in people's hearts.

There is a saying circulating among the people: one lychee, three fires, which shows how beneficial eating lychee is to the human body. Lychee has the effects of tonifying the spleen and benefiting the liver, regulating qi and nourishing blood, warming the middle and relieving pain, and calming the heart and soothing the nerves; it has a certain therapeutic benefit for regulating qi, dissipating nodules and relieving pain. The yield of lychee is not high, with an output of around 1600-2000 jin per mu. Although the yield is low, farmer Brother Bai earns 50,000-60,000 yuan a year from his 8-9 mu of lychee.

Unlike other growers who directly sell lychee to buyers, farmer Brother Bai sells lychee in an alternative way to increase his earnings. When the lychee ripens, Brother Bai sets up a pick-your-own ecological orchard, with prices 1-2 yuan per jin cheaper than the market, and unlike other orchards that charge admission, his is free. In this way he attracts more tourists to come pick lychee, bringing in over a thousand yuan every day. According to farmer Brother Bai, he also has part of the lychee made by hand into dried lychee. After the lychee season passes, when many consumers still want to eat lychee, he takes the dried lychee to the city to sell. Others sell it for 20 yuan per jin, but he sells it for 15 yuan per jin. It is cheaper and has no preservatives, so many consumers are willing to buy Brother Bai's dried lychee, selling a few hundred yuan's worth a day.
