"No. 1 Among Asia's Top Ten Christmas Celebrations" 2017 New Taipei City Christmasland

The annual "2017 New Taipei City Christmasland," the largest of its kind in Taiwan, China, is about to arrive. On November 1, an opening press conference was held to announce that Christmasland will run from November 24 of this year (2017) to January 1 of next year (2018), bringing a full series of events over 39 consecutive days! New Taipei City Deputy Mayor Hou You-yi announced that this year's Christmasland will feature a circus theme full of fantasy, joy and splendor, which will leave visitors amazed the moment they step into Christmasland. Together with department heads from various bureaus, he also activated a ticket symbolizing the circus-themed Christmasland, officially beginning the countdown to the opening of Christmasland! Deputy Mayor Hou You-yi also stated that this year the New Taipei City Government has once again partnered with Singapore's top projection team Hexogon Solution, which set a Guinness World Record, using as many as 48 high-specification projectors to comprehensively upgrade the projection hardware, special effects, range and brightness, creating the "world's only 360-degree 3D light sculpture projection Christmas tree." It has also, for the first time, integrated the station-front plaza, expanding the previous two lighting zones of Civic Plaza and Wanping Park into three major lighting zones. It is also the first time high-tech intelligent mobile projection technology has been used, extending the dazzling light sculpture projection to the Banqiao Station building, boosting the projection coverage area to 8,794 sq m in one stroke and setting another proud record!

This is the seventh year that New Taipei City has held Christmasland. Last year it was even selected by the globally renowned magazine "Harper's Bazaar" as one of the "19 Most Amazing Christmas Trees in the World," and it also won first place in an online media poll for "Asia's Top Ten Christmas Celebrations." The main Christmas light show was an indispensable key factor, propelling Christmasland into Taiwan, China's most representative international-level tourism event. This year's main Christmas light show breaks last year's (2016) record for the "nationwide light sculpture show with the largest projection area," using 48 high-specification projectors and, for the first time, intelligent mobile projectors to expand and extend the light sculpture show to Banqiao Station. In addition to the total light sculpture projection area surpassing last year's, the moving projection range reaches 8,794 sq m! (equivalent to 21 basketball courts or 1.5 football fields). At the same time, it enhances the delicate special effects and splendor of the main light show and upgrades the brightness of the Christmas tree, creating the nation's largest magical light sculpture Christmasland! Let New Taipei City Christmasland Light up the city, amaze the world! (After the opening of Christmasland on November 24, the main light show will be performed every half hour and every hour from 17:30 to 22:00.)
