Changhua Agricultural Specialty Products Promotion Carnival: County Magistrate Wei Ming-ku Promotes Local Specialties

It is now the peak season for Changhua County's diverse fruits. To market and promote Changhua's fresh, high-quality local agricultural specialty products, the Changhua County Government held the "2017 Changhua Agricultural Specialty Products Promotion Carnival" on the morning of November 12 at the Changhua Fruit and Vegetable Market (next to Rainbow Bridge). Changhua County Magistrate Wei Ming-ku, Changhua Fruit and Vegetable Market Chairman Chen Chien-hung and others attended. The site offered free tastings of Changhua's fresh fruits and provided discounted prices. It also combined marketing with products made by groups for people with physical and mental disabilities, and featured timed raffles with rich prizes such as premium home appliance gifts. County Magistrate Wei Ming-ku encouraged the public to buy more of Changhua's fresh, high-quality local agricultural specialty products and to join together to "gather crowds, boost buying, taste freshness, show love, and win big prizes."

County Magistrate Wei Ming-ku said that the Changhua Fruit and Vegetable Market is the largest fruit and vegetable market in Changhua County. Every year, the county government commissions the Changhua Fruit and Vegetable Market to hold a "free-for-all tasting" promotional event for agricultural specialty fruits. Changhua County is a major agricultural county, and its well-known fruits include grapes, guavas, pomelos, dragon fruit, longan, bananas and more. He hoped that through the event, local residents would come to taste local, in-season fruits, and that through the promotional activities, fruit farmers could increase their income and improve their lives.

Changhua Fruit and Vegetable Market Chairman Chen Chien-hung said he thanked the county government team, under the leadership of County Magistrate Wei, for organizing the Changhua Agricultural Specialty Products Promotion Carnival, marketing Changhua's high-quality fruits, and helping farmers increase their income. He also welcomed local residents to come to the Changhua Fruit and Vegetable Market to taste and buy high-quality fruits.
