How to grow goldfish plant? Detailed guide to cultivation methods and precautions
I. Soil
To grow goldfish plant, it is best to use a breathable, well-draining sandy soil. Using acidic soil is beneficial to its growth.
II. Water
During its vigorous growth period, it needs sufficient water, and the soil must be kept moist at all times. When the weather is dry, you can spray water around the plant to increase air humidity.
III. Temperature
Goldfish plant should be given a growing environment of 16-26°C. Too low or too high a temperature will affect its growth. In summer, the temperature should not be higher than 30°C, as it will enter a dormant state; place it in a ventilated spot and control the amount of watering. In winter, the temperature should not drop below 5°C, as it is prone to frost damage.
IV. Fertilizing
Apply diluted cake fertilizer water 1-2 times every month. To increase the number of flowers, apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer appropriately before flowering or during the flowering period. Suspend fertilizing during the dormant period.
V. Precautions
After the goldfish plant blooms, promptly prune off weak branches and leggy branches. Before winter arrives, cut off the withered flower stems, and also keep it dry, so that new flowering branches can grow better in the spring of the following year.
