What are the cultivation methods and precautions for the peace lily?
I. Soil
To cultivate a peace lily, use soil with strong drainage and a loose texture; do not use soil that is too heavy and sticky. You can mix leaf mold, peat soil, garden soil and coarse sand together for use.
II. Water
It likes to grow in a moist environment, and during the vigorous growth period it should be given plenty of water. The potting soil should stay moist, but there must be no waterlogging. If the usual watering amount is too large, it will cause the leaves to turn yellow or the roots to rot. In low-temperature weather, control the amount of watering.
III. Light
When cultivating a peace lily, the light should not be too abundant; it likes a semi-shaded growing environment. If the light is too intense, it will cause the leaves to scorch and turn yellow. In summer it should be shaded appropriately, though it should not be too dark either. Growing in too dark a place for a long time will make it grow weakly and its leaf color dull.
IV. Precautions
It grows very fast, so it should be repotted once every 1-2 years, and repotting can be done before budding. The soil should also be replaced with new soil, and when repotting, the rotted roots should also be pruned off.
