How to save a wilting azalea? Learn the correct remedy

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
There are many reasons an azalea wilts. If it is caused by overwatering, stop watering and switch to misting; if it is caused by improper repotting, let the plant readjust to its environment; if it is caused by not changing the soil for a long time, replace it with fresh soil.

1. Reduce watering

1. Cause: Watering the plant too much causes its roots to rot, and this unhealthy state of root rot shows up through wilting leaves and stems.

2. Solution: Stop watering the plant, but do not let it go short of water. At this point you can mist the surface of the potting soil, or mist the leaves and stems, keeping the environment around the plant moist.

2. Care for it slowly

1. Cause: The plant has adapted to its old potting soil environment, and suddenly moving it into new potting soil causes wilting.

2. Solution: Do some preparation before repotting the plant into a new pot, for example do not shake off the old soil from the roots, but instead transplant the plant together with the old soil on its roots into the new potting soil. If the plant has already been transplanted into new potting soil and is wilting, then you need to add nutrient solution and give it time to adapt to the new environment.

3. Replace the potting soil

1. Cause: If the soil is not changed for a long time, the nutrients in the old soil can no longer meet the plant's needs, and the plant will wilt.

2. Solution: Change the soil for the plant about once a year. Before changing the soil, give the plant time to adapt to the new soil. After repotting, do not rush to water or fertilize; once the plant has fully adapted to the new soil, you can add nutrients and water it.
