How to rescue a radermachera with root rot? A few remedies to teach you

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
To solve the problem of root rot in a radermachera, first take it out of the potting soil, clean off the dirt and rinse it with clean water, then cut off the rotted roots, soak them in potassium permanganate for 30 minutes, apply an appropriate amount of rooting powder and let them dry, then insert it into the soil, finally firm the soil down and water it thoroughly.

1. Causes

The causes of root rot in radermachera are generally: overwatering, overfertilizing or poor air permeability. Overwatering leads to waterlogging, and once waterlogging occurs it triggers root rot; too much fertilizer leaves excess nutrients piled up, which scorches its roots and causes root rot; if the potting soil has rather poor air permeability, its roots cannot breathe normally, and combined with waterlogging or excess nutrients, root rot easily occurs.

Usually water in moderation, not too frequently, and always wait until the soil has dried before watering; do not fertilize too much either, follow the principle of light fertilizer applied frequently, and do not make the fertilizer concentration too high; keep the potting soil sufficiently airy and give it appropriate light.

2. Rescue methods

1. Take the radermachera out of the potting soil, gently clean the old dirt off the roots, then rinse the roots clean with clear water.

2. Use sterilized tools to cut off the rotted root hairs and stems and leaves until clean, healthy wounds are exposed, then soak the roots in potassium permanganate for about 30 minutes, take them out and apply an appropriate amount of rooting powder, then put them in a cool place to dry.

3. Prepare a flowerpot and well-aerated soil, insert it into the soil, holding the radermachera with one hand while covering the soil with the other, finally firm the soil down and water it thoroughly.
