A "worthless" fruit alone lets a farmer get rich, earning over 100,000 yuan a year

In rural areas, star fruit is a very common fruit. In the past, rural children had no snacks to eat at ordinary times, unlike today when there are all kinds of pastries and snacks, so going out in groups to pick star fruit became a joy of childhood! Do you also have this kind of childhood memory?

In rural areas, some people also call it "five-pointed star fruit" because it has five ridges, and after cutting it open from the side it looks like the picture below: "like a five-pointed star," so rural people call it five-pointed star fruit. I remember that when I was a child, many people in our area grew it, and basically every household had it. Because there was no sales channel, none of it could be sold, and gradually no one grew it anymore.

But in recent years, with the development of online information and the improvement of living standards, people have realized the value of star fruit, and gradually more and more people buy it, putting the market in a state of supply falling short of demand. Uncle Gu decisively seized the opportunity and contracted more than ten mu of land to begin his star fruit growing career. It is now the fifth year, and also a year of a bumper harvest. Uncle Gu told us that the current market price of star fruit is about 6-8 yuan, and wholesalers come to buy wholesale at about 1.5-3 yuan. These more than ten mu of star fruit can sell for about 100,000 yuan a year just by wholesaling to wholesalers. Add to that customers who come to the orchard to pick, and over 100,000 yuan a year is no problem.

In addition, Uncle Gu also opened a few mu of the land to the public for picking at 30 yuan per ticket, all-you-can-eat. Tourists can both eat fresh star fruit and experience the fun of picking. The star fruit picked by tourists can also be taken away at a price 2 yuan lower than the market price. Therefore, it has also attracted a large number of tourists to come and pick star fruit. This has greatly increased the income of the orchard.
