JD Vegetables Grown in Japan: Liu Qiangdong Sells Vegetables After the Running Chicken
A while ago, everyone probably knew about Liu Qiangdong selling running chickens. Recently, Brother Dong couldn't stay idle again and set his sights on "selling vegetables." This time, however, he is not preparing to compete with the vegetable market aunties, but to sell "high-end Japanese vegetables."
According to Japanese media reports, JD Group will recently launch business cooperation with Japan's Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Group in the field of plant factories.
JD plans to build a plant factory of about 10,000 sq m in Tongzhou, Beijing, putting it into operation before spring 2018, with an investment amount reaching about 800 million yen (about 49 million yuan). Through independent cultivation and delivery using its own logistics network, JD will emphasize the freshness, safety and reassurance of the products.
Mitsubishi Chemical will provide a hydroponic cultivation system, while also providing technical guidance in areas such as seed selection, sowing, harvesting and packaging.
JD is known for fast delivery. This time, linked with the "vegetable selling" business, it could spark something new. Could it really be "order in the morning, eat vegetables at noon?"
So, these vegetables - will you buy them?
