Growing water lilies hydroponically in summer attracts mosquitoes? Here's one trick to easily prevent and control them

In summer, the most troublesome things for everyone, besides the high temperatures and the blazing sun, are mosquitoes. Every time I go somewhere with thick grass, I have to wrap myself in a layer of tightly sealed protective clothing, and also apply pungent mosquito repellent. Water lilies are no exception, as they easily breed mosquitoes and are bothered by them. If you are not careful, mosquito larvae can easily breed, and in the end they will still bite you or your family.
Based on my years of mosquito-prevention experience, plus tireless study, I have finally found a solution for everyone. Below I will explain them one by one, so get your notebooks ready!
Trick one: Change the water frequently
The frequency of changing the water is not unlimited; it is decided by the condition of the water. If the water in the pot is too cloudy and looks like a pool of stagnant water, then it is time to change the water, otherwise it easily breeds mosquitoes. If you use tap water, you can let the tap water sit in the sun for a day before using it.
Trick two: Keep fish
You can put a few small fish into the water. The species of small fish can be goldfish, crucian carp, and other fish that eat mosquito larvae. After adding small fish, the water level in the pot needs to be raised appropriately. Keeping fish also raises the requirements for water quality. You can change the water once every 3-5 days, which helps ensure water quality. But if algae and similar plants grow in the water, it is also fine to wait longer before changing the water. Then give the water lily sufficient sunlight, and a complete ecosystem can be formed.
Trick three: Ventilation and air flow
A poor placement environment for water lilies not only affects their growth but also provides a breeding ground for mosquitoes. For hydroponic water lilies, you can place them in a ventilated and airy environment, which can prevent mosquito breeding. At the same time, temperature is also one of the important factors affecting mosquito growth. Never place water lilies in an overly stuffy and hot environment, as mosquito hatching loves this kind of environment the most!
