Taichung City Flower Carpet Festival Introduces Aerial VR Technology: Pair With 3D Glasses for an Immersive Experience

The 2017 Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival introduced VR technology for the first time. By clicking the VR banner on the festival's official website, visitors can experience the charm of the sea of flowers even without being there in person. Paired with 3D glasses, it feels like stepping directly into 4 hectares of flowers and taking in the colorful charm of the giant musical garden.

The Taichung City Tourism and Travel Bureau stated that this year's Flower Carpet Festival incorporates the GNP concept of the Flora Expo, restoring the soil of a landfill and planting flowers directly in the soil. More than 10 kinds of flowers across 2 hectares grow strong in the soil, bringing a positive cycle of nature, ecology and symbiosis to the land. The city government has created innovative VR aerial footage, paired with a dedicated webpage, allowing users to zoom in and out through VR 720 degrees and choose the best viewing perspective. Putting on 3D glasses is like being at the Flower Carpet Festival itself.

The Taichung City Tourism and Travel Bureau pointed out that, in addition to overlooking the flower carpet through virtual reality technology, visitors can also interact up close with the Flora Expo mascots, the leopard cat family, and the Omi Ma-shaped flower carpet and interactive installations, bringing the flower carpet into another new "vision" and immersing themselves in hearing "the sound of flowers blooming."
