Nantou students paint with clever brushes: 220 themed dog lanterns will be displayed at the lantern festival

The Nantou Lantern Festival will open on February 10. This year, unlike the traditional lanterns of the past, the education lantern area will feature painted dog lanterns, with students from elementary schools in the county and the art class of Nantou Junior High School using their creativity to paint dog lanterns unique to the students. The county government said that all 220 dog lanterns will be displayed after the lantern festival opens, and everyone is welcome to come to the Nantou Lantern Festival to enjoy them.

With less than one month to go before the Nantou Lantern Festival lighting ceremony, the art class students of Zhushan Elementary School were assigned 22 dog lanterns. They used 2 to 3 weeks to conceive themes and paint them. On the 18th, many dog lanterns in different styles, such as Batman, Spider-Man, Sichuan opera face-changing, and blue-and-white porcelain, were presented one by one under the skillful hands of the Zhushan Elementary School art class students.

Zhushan Elementary School principal Zou Gengxin said that this time Zhushan Elementary School cooperated with the county government's 2018 Nantou Lantern Festival activity to let the children participate in painting dog lanterns. Everyone was very happy to be able to learn design and painting from it. Because the material of the dog lanterns is relatively fragile fiberglass, they need to be protected more carefully, and acrylic paint must be used to layer the colors one by one. This not only trained their patience, but also showed their passion for art. Watching the works gradually being completed also gave them a sense of achievement. It is believed that when everyone sees the finished works, they will be able to feel the children's joy. It is hoped that through these lanterns, the children can wish everyone a happy New Year, and everyone is also welcome to come to the Nantou Lantern Festival to find out more.
