Urban "light travel" - A fun spring stroll at Taipei's Dihua Recreation and Sports Park

Crowds everywhere and traffic jams during the Spring Festival! Are you still troubled by the huge crowds and traffic flooding tourist spots everywhere? The Sewerage Systems Office of the Taipei City Public Works Department recommends a private Taipei City spot, "Dihua Recreation and Sports Park," and invites you to come exercise and burn calories.

Sewerage Systems Office Director Chen Shih-hao said that the Dihua Sewage Treatment Plant, which can be called the largest secondary treatment plant in the country, operates 24 hours a day, all year round, treating the daily domestic wastewater produced by 2 million people in the greater Taipei area. The Dihua Recreation and Sports Park above it covers an area of 4.6 hectares. The park has basketball courts, tennis courts, softball fields, a skating rink and fitness trails, suitable for people who eat and drink heavily during the Spring Festival to come here and work up a sweat and burn calories. It also has a children's play area and activity lawns, suitable for the whole family and friends to "come together for fun and exercise."

In addition to experiencing the sports and family facilities in the park and enjoying the beauty of installation art, flowers and plants, sunsets and night views, the Sewerage Systems Office strongly recommends that people visit nearby historic sites such as Dihua Street, Sishisikan, Bao'an Temple, the Confucius Temple and Laoshifu, and enjoy traditional food. Everyone is welcome to "gather neighbors and bring the kids" to exercise, plan an urban "light trip," and enjoy a healthy, leisurely Spring Festival holiday full of cultural atmosphere!
