2018 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Chiayi: Businesses Join In and Offer "Welcome to Chiayi" Mini Trips

The 2018 Taiwan Lantern Festival is approaching. Riding the wave of the Spring Festival and the lantern festival, the Chiayi County Government has launched 15 itineraries covering Chiayi County, 5 itineraries across Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan, and 8 itineraries combining central Taiwan (Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, Yunlin, Chiayi), promoting the "1558 Travel Itineraries" so that every friend who comes to Chiayi during the Spring Festival can not only experience the most creative Taiwan Lantern Festival, but also take this opportunity to fully enjoy Taiwan's beautiful scenery and take a lucky spring mini trip!

Chiayi County Deputy Magistrate Wu Fang-ming, who knows Chiayi County's beautiful scenery like the back of his hand, said that to feel the view of the gods, visitors can go to the Taiping Suspension Bridge, then to the Meiwunwu Tourism Factory to taste plums, or follow the High Speed Rail Boulevard to Taibao to enjoy the 2018 Flower Sea Festival, where the 25-hectare flower field is truly spectacular. Visitors who like birdwatching can go to the Dongshi Aogu Wetland to enjoy the magnificent sight of tens of thousands of birds flying together.

To increase the economic benefits for the tourism industry in neighboring areas during the lantern festival and seize the huge business opportunities of the lantern festival, the Bureau of Cultural and Tourism Affairs also invited businesses in the Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan area to join in, offering discounted product packages during the lantern festival. After holding 2 briefing sessions for businesses, a total of 37 accommodation businesses, 12 souvenir businesses and 15 restaurant businesses participated, allowing visitors to the lantern festival to smoothly enjoy the "three locals": quality local accommodation, local souvenirs and local cuisine.
