The 2018 Taibao City Flower Sea Festival in Chiayi County Makes a Strong Debut

The 2018 Taibao City Flower Sea Festival in Chiayi County will make a strong debut on February 10. On the 6th, County Magistrate Zhang Huaguan, together with Taibao Mayor Huang Rongli, Farmers' Association Director-General Huang Lizhen and others, rang the blessing bell amid the flower sea, giving an early preview of the 25-hectare flower sea fields that rival Hokkaido, and warmly inviting visitors to come to Taibao City during the Lunar New Year to "see the flower sea by day and the lantern displays by night."

This year marks the 3rd edition of the Taibao City Flower Sea Festival in Chiayi County. In the first 2 years, rapeseed, cosmos and zinnia were sown across the flower sea, but because rapeseed and cosmos have short blooming periods, many visitors who came from afar reported that they could not see the flowers and returned disappointed. This year, to extend the blooming period, zinnia has been sown across the entire 25-hectare organic field area.

Taibao Mayor Huang Rongli pointed out that this year the office has displayed three major themed flower areas on this vast canvas of land: the "Rainbow Flower Sea," the "Striped Flower Sea" and the "Mixed Flower Sea," so that without spending money to go abroad, visitors can enjoy the romance of being in the flower fields of Hokkaido or strolling through Provence.

In addition, this year's food area is refined and worth seeing, with a local agricultural specialty products section, a food section and a souvenir section. While strolling through the flower sea, visitors can also taste Taibao City's distinctive foods, allowing them to experience this beautiful land of Taibao City and its heartfelt, happy cuisine.

The 2018 Taibao City flower-viewing season runs from February 10 to February 25, spanning the Lunar New Year and the 2018 Taiwan Lantern Festival. To avoid traffic congestion and parking inconvenience, the office has set up a flower sea shuttle bus at the high-speed rail station, with one departure every 20 minutes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day. Visitors from all over the country are welcome to come to Taibao City for a spring outing, to see the flower sea by day and the lantern displays by night.
