2018 Taipei Lantern Festival surprise Easter egg: "Pikachu Outbreak" in Taipei

The cutest surprise "Easter egg" of the 2018 Taipei Lantern Festival was officially revealed to the public yesterday (the 22nd). Pokemon fans do not need to fly to Yokohama, Japan, and do not need to wait until summer to travel a long way to see the "Pikachu Outbreak" event. With official Japanese authorization, the performance by Japan's cutest Pokemon, Pikachu, will be presented at the lighting ceremony of the Taipei Lantern Festival opening on February 24. It will also be added to the lighting event after the street parade on March 3, and there will also be a fan meet-and-greet that day!

A total of 6 Pikachu will take part in the Taipei Lantern Festival this time. They are absolutely the physical version of the internationally beloved "Pikachu Outbreak." "They" will appear at the Taipei Lantern Festival opening lighting ceremony on the evening of February 24 and at the lighting event after the street parade on the evening of March 3. Taipei's West District will transform into a giant Pokemon gym, inviting all Pokemon masters to bring their Poké Balls to catch the Pikachu appearing in large numbers!

In response to Taipei's highly anticipated festival event, the official Japanese "Pokemon" side not only dedicated its overseas "Outbreak (Discovery)" event to the Taipei Lantern Festival, but this is also the first time in Asia that Pikachu has been combined with festival costume performances.

This time, as "Pokemon" Pikachu comes to Taiwan, in addition to performances and lighting events, a fan meet-and-greet will be held after the performance, giving adults and children who love Pikachu a chance to interact and connect with Pikachu up close. Do not forget to come to Taipei's West District and catch the real Pikachu at the lantern festival!

The "2018 Taipei Lantern Festival" will run grandly from February 24 to March 4 in Taipei's West District. For information related to the Pikachu "Outbreak," please visit the Taipei Lantern Festival official website at https://2018.lanternfestival.taipei/.
