Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan attended the signing ceremony of the "Taoyuan Aerotropolis Corporation and National Taipei University of Business Cooperation Memorandum" at the city government yesterday (the 15th) afternoon. Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan stated that the Taoyuan Aerotropolis project not only increases airport operation capacity, but is also an industrial investment plan. It is hoped that more new types of industries and commercial activities will be introduced, which requires cultivating more talent in various fields such as aerospace, logistics, maintenance, conferences, exhibitions, cloud computing, e-commerce, cultural and creative industries, and biotechnology. National Taipei University of Business has many related departments and professionals in the field of business practice, and it is believed that both parties can cooperate on this, making Taoyuan Aerotropolis Corporation a bridge between industry and schools, and promoting more industry-academia cooperation and economic and trade development.

Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan pointed out that the Taoyuan Aerotropolis project is divided into the yolk area and the white area. The yolk area mainly gathers core airport service industries, while the white area gathers service industries that support airport development in the surrounding areas. The Taoyuan Aerotropolis project is not only a transportation hub construction, but also a practice of airport economics. Many industrial activities and commercial activities are generated one after another, so more talent is needed.

Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan said that the Taoyuan Aerotropolis project has three major goals. First, expand airport operation capacity and improve Taiwan's airport operation capability, therefore the third runway, third terminal, and free trade zone are being built, including development projects such as transit, logistics, and tourism; second, develop industrial investment plans, enabling more and larger investments in airport-related industries, which has already produced related benefits; third, smart city management. The Taoyuan Aerotropolis project is not just a new town development, but it is hoped that smart city development can be introduced, including disaster prevention systems, communications, buildings, and traffic management.

The cooperation memorandum was jointly signed by Huang Shih-cho, Chairman of Taoyuan Aerotropolis Corporation, and Chang Jui-hsiung, President of National Taipei University of Business.
