The jade plant is a green plant loved by many flower enthusiasts. Its leaves are thick and fleshy, like green jade, the plant is elegant, and its branches are vigorous and simple, full of the charm of an ancient tree. This is also an important reason why everyone loves it, and in summer and autumn, it blooms in profusion, with white flowers set off against green leaves, alternating green and white, very beautiful, with extremely high ornamental value.

The jade plant is still fairly easy to care for, but summer is a period of high incidence of pests and diseases, especially these 3 diseases, which are the most common. If you keep ignoring them, you will be left with nothing but the pot.

1. Rot disease

Rot disease is mainly caused by improper watering. The jade plant likes a warm and dry environment. If it is too moist, it is very easy to cause rot disease, so during care, pay attention to watering, keep the potting soil appropriately dry, and never allow water accumulation or excessive temperature.

When rot disease occurs, prune it off in time, and also prune off a portion of the surrounding healthy branches and leaves as well. Then apply 50% thiram 500-fold solution to the affected area, and place it in a well-ventilated spot for care.

2. Leaf spot disease

Leaf spot disease mainly occurs on the leaves and is caused by air that is too humid and poor ventilation. The plum rain season is a period of high incidence. In the early stage, the spots are small brown spots, with water-soaked faded green surroundings. In severe cases, black-brown mold spots appear on the leaves, and they may even become a mold layer. If not treated in time, it easily infects the whole plant.

During the plum rain season, spray 0.3% Bordeaux mixture on the leaves every 15 days to prevent the disease. For plants that have already developed the disease, remove the diseased leaves in time, then spray 0.5%-1% Bordeaux mixture.

3. Anthracnose

Anthracnose also occurs on the leaves. In the early stage, it appears as small water-soaked yellow spots. In severe cases, the leaf spots join together and appear dried out, and they also spread to the leaf stalks, causing the whole plant to lose its luster.

Anthracnose is mainly caused by poor ventilation and too low resistance of the plant. Move it to a well-ventilated place, apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer to increase the plant's resistance, and in the early stage of the disease, spray the leaves with 0.3% Bordeaux mixture.
