Yunlin County Magistrate Lee Chin-yung Leads Delegation Southbound to Market High-Quality Agriculture
In response to the promotion of the New Southbound Policy, Yunlin County Magistrate Lee Chin-yung will lead the county government administrative team on a trip to Malaysia from March 26 to 31, 2018 (ROC year 107) for exchange and inspection. This trip is a positive response to Malaysian Prime Minister's East Asia Special Envoy Tiong King Sing, who led delegations to visit Yunlin four times last October. It not only gives Yunlin County the opportunity to market its high-quality agriculture to the people of Malaysia, but also provides both sides with a chance for further exchange and mutual learning.
The purpose of this visit is to expand agricultural cooperation and exchange and to understand the development of the agricultural sector in Sarawak, Malaysia. In addition to visiting the pig farming industry, aquaculture fishery and vegetable industry, the delegation plans to call on the Sarawak state government of Malaysia, Malaysian Prime Minister's Special Envoy Tiong King Sing, and Ambassador Chang Chi-ping, Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Malaysia, as well as other official institutions and related industries. It is hoped that by carrying forward the core concept of the New Southbound Policy, upholding the spirit of long-term cultivation, diversified development and mutual benefit, and integrating the resources and strength of the government, private enterprises and organizations, opportunities for international policy exchange and industrial cooperation will be opened up, creating a new cooperation model of mutual benefit and win-win results.
In the future, the Yunlin County Government will continue to promote the New Southbound Policy, seeking another piece of business opportunity for Yunlin County's agriculture and related industries in the New Southbound countries.
